Teamwork is the car, but solo-work is the part.

I specialize in creating beautiful, usable, professional interfaces using best practice accessibility and the latest web standard guidelines, resulting in semantic and SEO friendly HTML and CSS. All my designs are lovingly handcrafted.

For building websites my weapons of choice are Photoshop, Illustrator and for workflow I use Adobe XD, and InVision for animations, then [Brackets] to produce clean semantic HTML and CSS. I also use After Effects for more specialized animations or creating

Project workflow is the soul of Agile Development

01. Research

Fast, informal visualizations allows me to explore different figures and ground relationships that fosters invention and discovery. While verbalizing ideas helps me build a bank of potential concepts, sketching pushes these ideas closer to reality. Multiple sketches yield a more valuable process than single sketches, as drawings begin to speak to one another, opening the mind and eye to new connections.

02. Design

Ubiquitous access to image editing and design software, together with zealous media inculcation on all things design, allows me to frame problems and suggest possibilities to start formstorming, and that is an act of visual thinking to unlock and deepen solutions to basic design problems.

03. Develop

Whether developing design for an individual, a small business, or a large corporation, my job brings a degree of art, craft, intelligence, and intuition to every project. Collaboration with writers, illustrators, photographers, and printers, makes for an energizing work environment, but the most exciting aspect of developing a project—and the most admirable one—is saying something that matters, and saying it with both grace and intelligence. A philosophy if you like.

Technology over technique produces emotionless design.

Academic principals lead to great Design

Similarity

We see two
groups based on the shape
of the elements.

Simplicity

We see two
squares rather than three
odd shapes.

Symmetry

We tend to
close symmetrical forms
to make a single object.

Continuity

We see one
rhombus shape
rather than four short
lines converging.

Closure

We tend to close the
gaps when we see them.

Proximity

We see two groups based on the closeness of the elements.
